The process is basically the same as the process for regular EOCs except for a few considerations listed below.

  • The difference between FA1 and FA2- The Alternate Assessment EOCs have two assessment components, The FSAA Performance Task (FA1) and the FSAA Datafolio (FA2). We talked briefly at the last Student Sub Committee Meeting about the FA2- Datafolio test and the fact that there were no cut scores available at that time. I have since reached out to Angela Nathaniel in the Assessment Office who confirmed that there will only be Achievement Levels released for Datafolio. Therefore there is no need to do the EOC Configuration in Skyward for the FA2 test, the setup only needs to be completed for the FA1 tests. I have attached the information that was shared at the Student Sub Committee Meeting to this email as well.
  • Performance Task Achievement Levels- There are only 4 Achievement Levels for each of the FA1 subject exams. This is of’ course different from the regular course EOC range that includes 5 Levels
  • Grouping Codes- Since you already have EOC Grouping Codes created for all the necessary subject areas you may not find the need to create new codes for Access courses. For example- You can simply add the Algebra grouping code that you already have created to the Access Algebra course. However, I have found that it can be helpful to use separate grouping codes for situations where you need to isolate one course as opposed to all courses that have the same grouping code. I have included a section in the doc specific to both options.
  • Some students may not take the Access course EOC in the first year of the course- Another important note about Access courses is that they are listed in the CCD as having Multiple credit value; therefore, there is the possibility that a student may not be ready to take the EOC exam the first year scheduled into the course. This was brought up again at the Technical Assistance Meeting for Accountability reporting last week. Accountability Coordinators were reminded that if a student is enrolled in an Access course and will not be ready to take the EOC during that school year, then the enrollment flag must be changed to a NO in the Student Data Updates Web Application, so that the student will not be included in the denominator of percent tested.
  • Waivers- If an EOC results waiver is applied, the normal steps for calculating a course grade including an EOC score will not apply. More information on how to handle these cases is included in the doc.

I updated and included the original EOC document for configuring the regular EOCs for those who would like to review their setup before Spring scores are imported. Since it is such a large and comprehensive document, I added a Revision History on the last page for a quick reference to changes.

Reminder- Please be sure you have disconnected all Algebra 2 courses from the ALG 2 EOC and ALG 2 EOC Calc methods.
