Updates (May 7, 2020):

  • Survey Withdrawal Codes of WCO (and W60) – Added W60 as an withdrawal code for adult students. Added an additional paragraph clarifying when to use WCO and a District Q&A section for I question I asked DOE about whether or not to use WCO for CTE Pathway and ACCEL students graduating with the waiver (spoilers: yes).
  • Use of FSA Geometry EOC as a Concordant Score – Added information from DOE's communication shared on May 6th via the District Assessment Coordinator ListServ (and to superintendents on their ListServ) where a rule development was proposed opening up the possibility of allowing the Geometry EOC to be used as a concordant score outright. Previously, this option was being considered for only students taking Algebra 1 in the 2019-20 school year. This information has been added as a new subsection. Please note the registration URL in the body of the notice and consider registering if you are interested in sitting in on that discussion. The call is May 20th at 4:00 PM.
  • Creating Withdrawal Code of WCO – Wrote up a one-page explanation on adding the WCO to Skyward. The WCO withdrawal code is in Addendum 07 and has been installed. However, for those of you with adult entities, the W60 withdrawal code is NOT in Addendum 07. It is currently scheduled to be released in Addendum 09 (May 28th).
  • Mass Update Student Class Exclude Class from EOC Utility (PS\CA\TO\AU) – Skyward has also created an Administrative Utility to mass flag student EOC class records as excluded from taking the EOC. This will tell Skyward to use regular GPA calc methods to calculate earned credit and GPA instead of EOC calc methods. This section is a quick write-up of the utility and how it works. This utility is also coming in Addendum 07. If you want to try it out, test it in Training first.
  • Update Scholar Designation Criteria for 2019-20 Cohort (WS\OF\CA\GR\EN\PS\CF\EN) – Cortney previously sent out a document on updating Scholar Designation configuration for this year's senior class who no longer need to pass the EOCs to receive the endorsement. That information has been merged into my document. There is also a subsection for graduating non-senior students (spoilers: you'll have to do those manually).

Updates (May 14, 2020):

  • Industry Certifications – DOE Executive Order 2020-02 suspended strict adherence to certain areas of Florida Statute. One affected area was administration of industry certification exams. The limitation of no more than three attempts at least twenty days apart as specified in Rule 6A-6.0573(13)(c)5. has been suspended for 2019-20 industry certifications.
